200 Hour Full Time YTTC in Ahangama, Sri Lanka

You will, of course, be diving deep into the physical aspects of yoga; body movement and alignment, breathwork, and correct classroom adjustment to ensure that you are aware of your own postures and just as importantly, the postures of those around you. We are passionate about the importance of honoring and understanding the roots of yoga and providing students with deep studies into the history and philosophy of this ancient science.

We create open spaces for discussion about views and personal experiences as we feel this is the most beneficial and effective way to learn such an inclusive and vast topic. You will learn to understand the mechanics of the body in a unique and dynamic classroom setting, analyzing the anatomy and physiology of the body and how it specifically connects to the movement of yoga with a highly qualified and experienced teacher. You will be exploring the depths of the world of meditation and mantra, learning skills and techniques for guided meditations and independent practices.

As yoga is an inclusive science, we feel it is important to understand different perspectives and practices of spirituality. With this in mind, as you will be in Sri Lanka, we feel it is important to understand and experience the traditions of the land. Therefore, we will be offering the opportunity to experience a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class as an extra curricula activity (small additional cost for small local business running the workshop). You will have all this and much much more to expect from this three-week intensive program with Middle Path Movement.

Classes will run from Monday to Saturday with Sundays being a free day with optional ceremonies, workshops, and guided local tours. The days will begin at 07:00 with kriya, meditation, asana, pranayama, and journaling. We aim to end each day around 18:00 to allow for private study time although some evenings may include workshops.

Your teacher training course in Sri Lanka is held at Nirbana, a luxury retreat resort tucked away amongst tropical trees and situated elegantly beside the river with incredible facilities that will enhance your yoga journey on many levels.

Nirbana’s accommodation offerings are among the very best in Sri Lanka. All of the shared rooms come with super king size twin beds and the private rooms offer a king size bed. The spaces have been carefully designed with luxury and comfort in mind. All of the rooms feature en-suite bathroom, some with walk in rain showers and others with an outdoor bath, air-conditioning, wifi, toiletries, hairdryer and safe. Each room has been mindfully situated on Nirbana island to evoke a sense of peace and calm.

Karess
Certified Yoga Teacher

Originally from Huntington Beach California - Karess has been a devoted practitioner in Yoga based sciences for the last 10 years. Her first inspiration or initial introduction to Yoga was through a series of health complications in her youth - that brought her to the Ancient Arts and principles she teaches today. 

Through various principles In Yoga she was able to heal what she was told by Doctors, “could never be healed.”

This left her inspired and humbled by the power of the mind and body and decided to devote her life to being in service and giving back to a lost wisdom that indeed was the people's birthright to know and understand this Ancient Science. 

“Yoga is not a religion or an ideology - it is a Science! When properly understood and applied to our life - anything is possible.”

Karess stands for tradition and strives to bridge the past with the present in order to create great change for our future selves and humanity, bridging the Modern world with Eastern philosophies and principles. 

Certified over 1,300 hours in RYT and IAYT Certification in Hatha Yoga, Yoga therapy, Pranayama Science, Meditation, Mudra Therapy, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga Science and Vedic Philosophy.

Salvör
Certified Yoga Teacher

Salvör has been living and experiencing life with yogic principles at hand and heart for over 10 years. She is highly fascinated and intrigued by the natural functions of the body, mind, heart and soul.

She has spent years learning and teaching how to apply these ancient practices and principles of yoga into our modern-day lives. She has over 8 years of teaching experience from classes, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings and private sessions in Iceland (where she is from), Denmark, Portugal, La Palma and Nepal.

The foundations of Salvör's yoga studies arrive from Traditional Hatha Yoga and her passion lies in teaching the very true origin and stem of all yoga, Hatha. After her second teacher training in India she spent months both in India and Nepal further studying the philosophy and history of Hatha Yoga, applying these ancient practices into her daily life there.

Salvör also has a very deep interest in the therapeutic and healing benefits of Yin Yoga and Yoga Therapy, therefore she has created and is teaching her own 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Iceland. She has successfully graduated over 50 students from her training in the last 2 years.

What stands out in Salvör's spaces is the quality of stillness, depth, inner listening and safety she creates. Her intention is to create a space of curiosity and self discovery without any outside interference so you may start to hear and listen to your own inner voice. From there, discover the intelligence and mystery of your own body, mind, heart and soul. It is a space to listen to your own inner teacher, your inner guide and come back to your truth.
